Trust the Process! Here's How I Work:
-
You contact me to request a free sample edit or evaluation of your manuscript. To help me get an idea of what your work is about, provide any introductory materials such as a blurb, synopsis, or query letter. The sample edit is to see if I'm the right fit for you as an editor; The evaluation is to hear a general first impression and recommendations for what you manuscript needs next.
-
I respond to your project request. If I accept, I will then request for a sample of the work for the sample edit or evaluation. Samples can only be 1 chapter or less than 400 words. I am entitled to decline a request for any reason.
-
You send me the sample as a WordDoc via email.
-
I return the sample edit or evaluation within the week.
-
Then, you may reach out and request a full, specific service. Specify the medium and genre of your work, its current phase in the development process, and any other supplemental materials I may need. Send your work as a WordDoc via email.
-
I do a quick look-see and give an estimate for cost. If it is agreeable, I proceed with the service.
-
After I return the manuscript to you, you review the service materials that I provide, such as queries or a revision letter. If it is satisfactory, you send the invoice.
-
If you are interested, we can proceed with a second round to address deeper layers for improvement. The process repeats beginning from number 3. Know that I charge for every round of service.
-
We can do as many rounds as will benefit your manuscript and/or fit your budget.
-
Once the manuscript is to your satisfaction and has made the most of its budget, all that's left is sending the final invoice. This is when you can request a free review (Ex. Goodreads, Amazon) once the work is published.
